The short version
- We collect only what Quizoma needs to work: your Google name and email for your account, the quizzes you create, and the answers you submit.
- We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not collect your Advertising ID.
- People who run a quiz you take can see your name, answers and score. Your email address is never shown to other users.
- Usage analytics and crash reports never include your name, email or answers, and you can switch them off in Settings.
- You can delete your account and its data from inside the app at any time.
1.Who we are
Quizoma is a quiz and poll app for Android, with a companion web page for taking quizzes in a browser. It is published and operated by CraftByte Studio (“we”, “us”, “our”).
We are responsible for (the “controller” of) the personal information described in this policy. It applies to the Quizoma Android app, the pages at quizoma.com, and any support you get from us.
2.Information we collect
Information from your Google account
Quizoma uses Google Sign-In. When you sign in, Google shares your name, email address and Google account ID with us. Google may also share your profile photo address; our sign-in provider keeps it with your login record, but Quizoma does not display or use it. We never receive your Google password.
You can change the display name shown in Quizoma at any time from the app.
Information you create or submit

Information collected automatically
- Notification token. A push token issued by Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, linked to your account so we can send the notifications you have not turned off. It is removed when you sign out.
- Usage analytics. Events such as “quiz created”, “quiz joined” or “answers submitted” (with the quiz ID and score), screens viewed, app version, device model, operating system version and an approximate region derived from your IP address. These are linked only to a random account ID, never to your name or email, and never include the text of your questions or answers.
- Crash reports. When the app crashes: the technical error, device model, operating system and app version, linked to the same random account ID.
What we do not collect
Quizoma does not collect your precise or background location, contacts, calendar, SMS, call logs, microphone audio, or the photos and files stored on your device. It does not collect your Advertising ID.
- Camera. Used only while the QR scanner is open, to read a quiz code. Images are processed on your device and are never saved or uploaded.
- Clipboard. Read only when you tap Paste on the Join screen, to pick out a quiz code. Nothing else from your clipboard is kept or sent.
- Imported files. When you import questions from a text or CSV file, the file is read on your device. Only the questions you confirm are saved, as part of your quiz.
- Result PDFs. Created on your device and only leave it if you choose to share them.

We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or share it for cross-app or cross-site tracking. We do not use it to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. Automatic scoring only compares your answers with the quiz owner’s answer key.
4.What other users can see
Quizoma is built for sharing quizzes, so some information is visible to other people:
- When you take a quiz, its owner can see your display name, when you joined and started, your answers, score, time taken, hint use, retakes and whether you used the app or the web. If you leave a quiz, the owner is told.
- When you vote in a poll, the quiz owner can see the results, and if the poll is not anonymous they also see who chose what and any comment you added. Marking a poll anonymous hides voters’ names from the results Quizoma shows; please treat it as a display setting rather than a guarantee that a vote can never be linked back to the person who cast it.
- When you create a quiz, anyone with its code or link can open it, and participants see your display name.
Your email address is never shown to other users. Only you, and we as the operator (for support, safety and running the service), can see it.
5.Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run Quizoma. They process information on our behalf, under their own security and privacy commitments, and may not use it for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information if required by law or a valid legal request, to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or others, or as part of a transfer of the app to a new operator, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
6.Where data is stored
Our main database is hosted by Supabase in Singapore. Google and PostHog may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. These countries may have data protection laws different from yours. Where the law requires it, we rely on our providers’ standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards for these transfers.
7.How long we keep data
- Account, quizzes, activity and feedback: kept until you delete your account, or until you delete a quiz, which removes its questions and all participants’ answers to it.
- Notices that a quiz was deleted or that a participant left, and announcements: deleted automatically after 5 days.
- Notification tokens: removed when you sign out, delete your account, or when Google reports the token is no longer valid.
- Poll votes in other people’s polls: kept after you delete your account so that poll results stay correct, but no longer linked to your name, email or any account.
- Analytics and crash reports: kept by Google and PostHog for the period set in those services, then deleted automatically. They contain only the random account ID, which no longer connects to you once your account is deleted.
- Backups: deleted information can remain in routine database backups for a short period until those backups are replaced.
We may keep information longer where the law requires it or to resolve a dispute or enforce our Terms.
8.Your choices and rights
In the app
- Delete your account: menu → Delete Account. This happens immediately. Other ways to delete.
- Turn off analytics and crash reports: Settings → Privacy → Share usage & crash data.
- Notifications: choose which types you get in Settings → Notifications, or turn them off in your device settings.
- Correct your name: edit your display name from the app menu. Your email comes from your Google account.
- Remove your content: delete any quiz you created. Leaving a quiz you joined removes it from your list; answers you already submitted stay visible to its owner until the quiz or your account is deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, get a copy in a portable format, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and withdraw consent. You can use these rights by emailing us. We will respond within 30 days and may need to confirm that the request comes from the owner of the account, usually by replying from the Google email you signed in with. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
9.Children and schools
Quizoma is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13, or the minimum age required in your country to use online services without a parent’s consent, whichever is higher, and have your own Google account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.
Teachers and organisers who use Quizoma with a group are responsible for making sure every participant meets this requirement. If you believe a child under the minimum age has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
10.Security
All information travels between your device and our providers over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Database access rules ensure each account can reach only its own data and data that has been shared with it, and administrator access is limited to the operator. Quizoma data on your phone is excluded from device and cloud backups.
No online service can be completely secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.
11.Our website and web quiz page
The web quiz page lets you take a quiz in a browser after signing in with Google. It keeps your sign-in session in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in; signing out removes it. It also loads a font from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address and browser details.
Our pages do not set advertising cookies. Product analytics (PostHog) only starts after you accept the cookie banner shown on first visit; declining keeps it off. When enabled, PostHog stores a random identifier in your browser to count visits and the events listed above; it does not record your typing, clicks on page text, or screen recordings. You can change your choice anytime via the “Cookie Settings” link in the site footer. We do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is no agreed standard for them, but we do not track you across other websites.
12.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Quizoma changes or the law requires. We will change the dates at the top of this page, and if a change is significant we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
